About

Trailblazers is a Canadian volunteer organization that was created in 2005 to advocate the advancement of women in radio. Nearly 20 years later, the mission remains clear: to celebrate and support women in the industry through education, inspiration, and mentorship. With the assistance of sponsors such as Slaight Music, CBC and Bell Media, we take the stage at the RDNA/Canadian Music Week conference each year — honouring one woman with the Rosalie Trombley Award. Past winners include Marilyn Denis, Shushma Datt, Maie Pautts, Karen Steele and Maureen Holloway for their career success, leadership, mentorship, innovation, and spirit of generosity. The Trailblazers are also known for presenting an annual panel that addresses the challenges and opportunities Canadian women in media face today.
