Maie has been a top rated mid-day announcer at boom 97.3 since their launch in 2010. With her boombox All Request Lunch hour and listener Mixtape of You feature, Maie has developed a very interactive relationship with her audience. After graduating from Toronto Metropolitan University’s (formerly Ryerson) Radio and Television program, Maie landed her first professional radio job at CKMW Radio 790 where she worked mid-days, as Music director, sales and copywriting. That was in 1983 which means this year she enjoying her 40th anniversary as a radio broadcaster.

She went to CFNY 102 in ’87 where, from overnights, she moved to cohosting Live in Toronto a nightly program highlighting the myriad of artists performing in town, a brief stint on mornings and then landing in her much coveted mid-day position again from ’93 to 2001. During her time with ‘NY the Spirit of Radio or as EDGE 102.1, as many know it, she interviewed countless artists including: Depeche Mode, Simple Minds, Elvis Costello, and Chrissie Hynde.

The opportunity to interview amazing artists continued when she went to CHUM FM as a swing announcer in 2002. Her chats with Madonna, George Michael, Beyonce, Pink, Kelly Clarkson, Bryan Adams and many more were featured across Canada on the CHUM Radio Network. She also had the pleasure of sitting in with the legendary Roger, Rick and Marilyn morning show, many times.

In addition to her radio broadcast work, Maie has worked extensively in voice over work, including 5 years as the National Image for the CTV network in late 90’s early 2000’s and numerous tv and radio commercials from Campbells Soup to Honda.

Maie also enjoys hosting and supporting events for charities including Rock for Dimes for March of Dimes and the Annual McBowl Concert Series in support of Ronald McDonald House. 

Maie says that her current role at boom 97.3 is perfect as it allows her to share all her experience thus far with all the people in this city who have been with her all along the way. “What a gift!!
